Top Adventure in Ijen Crater


I jen Crater is one of the most visited volcano in East Java. It is located at altitude of 2368 meters from sea, in the middle of the biggest caldera in Indonesia. This largest acid crater with 200 meters depth contains about 36 million cubic of steaming  acid water.  The temperature of the crater is about 200  Celcius with bluish green  and sulphuric smoke that is stunning.The temperature drops at night about 2 Celcious, dramatic level for tropical country that will inrease the sensation of the adventure.

YourChallenge                                                                              For you who call yourself as the real adventurer, when you visit ijen, you must think back who is more real adventurer. Sulfur is the important attraction for tourist who want to see how to process of mining sulfur in traditional technique. Local men take the most dangerous jobs in the world.  Their work begins, often barefooted,  with a 5km climb up to the crater rim and down to the vent, here the sulfur forms. The sulfur is broken into manageable pieces with nothing more than metal rods and then carry it with bamboo basket on their shoulder. Men carry individual loads of up to 100 kg.
The Best Time to Enjoy
Star hiking in early morning at around  3- 4 am, but its worthy , you will be rewarded with breathtaking view of the sunrise

Along your trekking to the volcano, you will pass through tropical forest , rubber and coffee plantation.
Tips
Prepare yourself for the smell of sulfur
       The path to the crater can be slippery so choose shoes with , If you are hiking for sunrise scenery, take extra clothes as it is totally cold
